There are currently measles cases in several communities throughout the US, and many other countries.  The best protection against the measles is to receive two MMR doses, as recommended by the CDC.  The vast majority of those infected with the measles have NOT received adequate vaccination.  Rutgers University requires documentation of 2 MMR vaccines.  It is very contagious spread through coughing and sneezing.  It remains on surfaces for 2 hrs.

Symptoms of the measles include:  fever, congestion, coughing, red watery eyes and rash spreading from head to toe.

It is considered infective for 4 days before the rash through 4 days after the rash.
