Mumps
Mumps is a highly contagious disease that is transmitted by being in close contact with someone infected or respiratory secretion.
- Signs and symptoms: fever, headache, large swelling of salivary glands on one side or both sides of jaw/neck.
- To prevent mumps: Make sure you have 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine or lab evidence of immunity, cover your mouth with coughing, wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer, don’t share glasses, water bottles, eating utensils, smoking/vaping materials, cosmetics or lip balm
