Wayne was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Pennsylvania and obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Lock Haven University. He then moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL to obtain his Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. He is currently attending Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he has accrued another Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and working toward completion of his Doctoral degree in the same area. Wayne has been working in the field of psychology for over 8 years, holding many positions but specializing in Behavioral Medicine and Substance Use. In his down time, he enjoys going to the movies, playing video games, and spending time with family/friends. His goal for this current clinical rotation is to better understand assessment and provide individuals with the information that they may need to increase their college experience and overall quality of life.
My Approach to Treatment
Wayne believes that assessment should be a collaborative effort. He is skilled at working with individuals who are having their first onset of mental health issues as well as struggling with substance use issues. Wayne has a passion for utilizing CBT, and Solution Focused Therapy techniques to help individuals reach the agreed upon goals. He has a passion for rapport building and engaging individuals in assessments to ensure comfort and optimal performance. The anticipated outcome is that the client will come to an understanding of best practices for navigating all aspects of their daily living.
