My Approach to Treatment
Dr. Kane’s approach to treatment stems from a health crisis her family went through before she became a nurse. The reality of disparity and inequity in healthcare hit home when she later learned that there were options in the family members plan of care that were not shared with her and her family. She believes patients should be included in the decisions regarding their health and utilizes a personal framework that is inclusive of patients, their families, and the provider. In following this approach to healthcare, she has found that many patients are more apt to follow a plan…if they are included in the process. Since starting her journey in college health at Rutgers Camden and she uses every opportunity to teach her patients about their health and well-being as they navigate their move into young adults. At the end of the day, she hopes that she had a positive impact on someone’s life.
